The OVHC Committee organises and promotes Heritage Weekend and runs key events such as the Garden Party, Victorian Morning Tea, Street Parade, Heritage Cycle Races, Fashion Show, and Ceilidh.
 

In addition, many other events are hosted by our “associate” groups and clubs, including local churches, enthusiast groups, and service clubs. 
 

The Committee coordinates the full programme and manages marketing.
 

We’re looking for new Committee members who have fresh ideas to make the Celebrations even better for Oamaru and expand the programme further.

By joining, you’ll become part of a friendly, supportive group with experienced members, a solid bank balance, established processes, and strong relationships with local service clubs and organisations. You’ll have the flexibility to shape your role based on your interests and the needs of the Committee.
 

The Committee meets every 2-4 weeks, as needed, with meetings typically lasting 60-90 minutes. During these sessions, we set plans, agree on priorities, and divvy up tasks among members.

Not ready to join the Committee but still want to contribute? We’d love to hear from you! There are plenty of small ways to get involved, and every extra pair of hands helps make the November festivities a success.
